The FOUNDERS:
Diego Bravo and Gloria Zapata are the founders of EQUSERA, a platform developed from a shared vision to elevate and professionalize equestrian living worldwide. Over the past five years, they have worked to develop a structured, practical, and reliable approach to horse farm ownership, combining real-world experience in equine management, farm operations, and real estate. Their work is inspired by a lifelong connection with horses and driven by a commitment to improving outcomes for both horses and owners through safer practices, better planning, and more informed decision-making.
Diego Bravo — Co-founder & Director of Equine Strategy
I am Diego Bravo, co-founder of EQUSERA™️. Horses have been the central focus of my life since early childhood, evolving from a deep personal passion into a professional vocation dedicated to improving equine welfare, safety, and farm excellence worldwide.
I hold the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Universidad Nacional (Medellín), graduating with honors, and a professional certification in Farm Management from Universidad EAFIT. My thesis examined the physics of bits using real horses and riders, an early commitment to combining scientific rigor with practical horsemanship.
Over more than four decades, I have managed or consulted on over 50 horse farms in Colombia and Florida, focusing on facility design, operational efficiency, horse safety, nutrition, and long-term sustainability. As an experienced rider, I have dedicated more than 20,000 hours to training, retraining, competition, and recreational riding across approximately 13 horse breeds.
I have delivered over 15,000 hours of riding instruction to more than 1,000 students ages 4 to 74 and have served as a coach to national equitation teams representing Colombia and the United States at CONFEPASO World Cup competitions. I have also taught as an adjunct professor of Equine Production and Horse Handling and Safety.
In addition, I am a licensed Florida real estate salesperson and REALTOR®️ specializing in equestrian properties, integrating equine functionality with long-term real estate value. I am the author of multiple equine publications and am based in Ocala, Florida, internationally known as the Horse Capital of the World.
Gloria Zapata: Co-Founder & Business Director
I am Gloria Zapata, co-founder of EQUSERA™️. I provide strategic leadership in business operations, client experience, and real estate services. I hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and have a diverse professional background spanning hospitality, public service, insurance, engineering support, and property services.
My career includes service at the Presidency of Colombia as well as extensive experience in both private and public sectors. After relocating to the United States, I built a diverse career in property and equine insurance as well as construction-related industries. I am also a licensed Florida real estate salesperson and REALTOR®️. While I specialize in the complex demands of luxury properties, equine facilities, and country farms, I provide the same high standard of concierge service to every family, retiree, and investor I serve across the residential spectrum.
Within EQUSERA™️, I help ensure the platform’s solutions stay practical, client-focused, and aligned with the genuine needs of horse owners, property buyers, and sellers. My expertise in customer care, operational details, and cross-cultural communication supports the organization’s dedication to providing a seamless client experience worldwide.
